Governor Details 2024-25

 

Full Governing Board Chair: Mr Philip White

Vice-Chair: Dr Julia Lawrence

The Full Governing Body has a strategic leadership role that includes:

·         setting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction;

·         holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance, safety and welfare of the school and its pupils and staff;

·         overseeing the school improvement plan;

·         review the financial performance of the school to make sure its money is well spent.

Pupils Disciplinary Committee Chair: Miss Jane Reynolds (Quorum 3)
The remit of the committee is to:

·         consider the circumstances in which a student has been suspended and representations made by the parent and the LA as required by the School Standards and Framework Act 1998;

·         decide whether or not to uphold or reinstate any supension which exceeds five days in any one term.

Performance Management Committee Chair: Dr Julia Lawrence

Vice-Chair: Mr David Baldock and Mr Philip White

The remit of the committee is to:

·         set and review the performance targets of the Headteacher;

·         determine personnel matters in accordance with policy and procedures.

Personnel Committee Chair: Dr Julia Lawrence

Vice-Chair: Mrs Maggie Masters

The remit of the committee is to:

·         determine a staffing structure and other staffing matters, recommend to the governing body a performance management policy and a staff pay policy and review staff pay in line with those policies;

·         consider matters of student welfare including safeguarding and make recommendations to the governing body;

Finance and Resources Committee Chair: Mr Alex Shepherd

Vice Chair: Mr David Baldock

The remit of the committee is to:

·         determine the school’s annual budget plan, including the staff complement;

·         plan the school budget in accordance with the priorities in the school improvement plan;

 

 

Health and Safety Representative Counsellor Mike Heslop-Mullens
The remit of the committee is to:

·         ensure Health and Safety compliance and identify any general Health and Safety issues or concerns which may affect school pupils or employees;

·         audit the school’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.
