Support

At Bridlington sixth form, we can tailor our guidance and pastoral support to the individual. We have a highly experienced team of specialist teachers, including specialists who were brought in exclusively to teach in the sixth form. We have dedicated sixth form pastoral manager to help with any issues you may have and is herself a qualified and experienced sixth form teacher who understands the importance of those crucial teacher-student relationships. We have a full-time Careers Adviser on the staff, as well as two members of our teaching staff who are also qualified careers advisors, to support and guide you in making those all-important ‘next steps’ decisions.

As an 11-18 school, this guidance starts a long time before you start in the sixth form meaning with the guidance and intervention you received lower down the school your already on track to a positive destination that’s right for you. Our Head of Sixth Form is also our school’s Careers Leader meaning careers and ‘next steps’ is fully integrated into the sixth form’s ethos.

To help build your self-confidence, and your personal statement or CV, we have a thriving enrichment programme including the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (with a straight to gold option), Sports Leaders and sports leadership qualifications, opportunities to help out in lessons and tutor groups lower down the school and a work experience programme amongst many other things.
