Bridlington School students are separated into four House Teams. Each team is made up of a vertical tutor group structure to allow an inclusive mix of all year groups within each House.
The four Houses are named after sporting heroes, as chosen by the students; click each for more information on each of our sporting heroes.
Each House has a staff Head of House with a team of House Captains from each year group. They also work in close collaboration with the Peer Mentor Team.
The House Team is responsible for and maintains a wide and varied extracurricular timetable for the benefit of all students. There are clubs for craft, sport, film, gaming and ICT which are timetabled across the week each lunchtime and after school.
They also coordinate activities in ‘The Pod’ which is a satellite building on school site where students can access a Chill Out Room, Activity Room and a 3D cinema two lunchtimes a week.
‘The Great Brid-ish Bake Off’ is also a very popular termly competition.
Aside from the clubs and The Pod, the House Team also arrange charity fundraising events and activities. The charity supported by the team this academic year is ‘Caring Matters Now’ which was voted for by our whole student body. They also fundraise for Comic Relief, Sports Relief and Children in Need.
Bridlington School has a 'Student Council' which is made up of House Captains who volunteer for different committees throughout the school year to help the Headteacher and Chair of Governors make important decisions about the school.
They work in coordination with the site management team, finance team and outside agencies to help build a better environment for the benefit of the whole school.
