In memory of a much loved Sixth Form student from Bridlington School

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the Bridlington School community share the devastating news of the loss of one of our Year 13 students, Kuba Feliks.

I want you to know that as a school, together with my senior leadership team, we are supporting Kuba’s family and peers through this incredibly difficult time. We also ask that Kuba’s loved ones are given the space and time to grieve privately and without public discussion or questioning on social media.

Kuba was a much-loved and prominent member of our school and Sixth Form. He was known not only for his creativity and passion within our performing arts team, but also for his dry sense of humour, his flowing hair, and his unforgettable bass guitar playing – always, it seemed, turned up to 11! He brought enthusiasm and energy to those around him, had exciting plans for the future to head to university – and will be remembered with great fondness by students and staff alike.

The school is working with the local authority, health and community partners to make sure we can provide the right specialist support – not just for our students and staff, but also the wider community.

We encourage our students, families, and staff to talk openly and seek support. Our usual avenues of help remain available – including pastoral and safeguarding teams, trusted staff members, and the anonymous Big Red Button.

Please be reassured that there is local support available, from general grief support to navigate the loss of a loved one or anyone affected by this sad news, to dedicated bereavement, wellbeing and suicide prevention services for young people.

We hope the information below will provide reassurance and support at this time, and throughout the coming weeks/months.
