6th Form Develop Political Debate

The referendum on the EU is one of the most important issues that Britain will face in the next few years. It became clear from our Fundamental British Values sessions that students wanted to debate the issues. So we looked to bring in a UKIP representative and a Liberal Democrat representative; these two parties were selected for their polar opposite stances on Europe. Kamran Hussain, leader of the Liberal Democrat Yorkshire and Humber campaign responded but UKIP did not. Kamran came in, gave his speech and then faced some tough questions from the audience. A good experience - it’s a shame that our VI Form cannot vote yet
