6th Form Open Event
Bridlington Sixth Form had 80 year 11 pupils and their parents attend its first Open Event of the year on Thursday. Pupils and parents were given a presentation including speeches from Kate Parker-Randall (Headteacher), Simon Pick (Head of Sixth Form), Louis Garland (Head Boy) and Molly Green (Deputy Head Girl) and video testimonials from former students which were very well received. Pupils and parents then had a tour of the sixth form facilities and a chance to talk to current sixth formers and their teachers over tea and coffee. New Head of Sixth Form, Simon Pick said, “it was great to see so many pupils and their parents taking the opportunity to find out more about what our vibrant Sixth Form has to offer. There was a great atmosphere and feel around the place with so many year 11s and their parents engaging with our current sixth formers and teachers”. The Sixth Form Open Event saw the first public engagement for Bridlington School’s newly appointed student leadership team made up of Head Boy and Head Girl Louis Garland and Sarah Birkbeck in year 13 and Deputy Head Boy, Keane Heslop and Deputy Head Girl Molly Green in year 12. Louis and Molly gave speeches that were very well received. Headteacher, Kate Parker-Randall said, “since the introduction of the Progress 8 league tables, we’ve been one of the highest performing schools in the country at GCSE and have delivered the best A-level results in the history of the school for the last two years in a row. There has never been a better time to join Bridlington Sixth Form and it’s great to see that recognised by so many students and parents”.
