A Recipe for a Happy Christmas

A Recipe for a Happy Christmas

Bridlington School students were busy baking before in the run-up to Christmas with the aim of bringing some seasonal cheer to some of the more elderly members of the community.

A group of ten Year 8 students with the help of Mrs Clifton made and decorated a staggering 60 Christmas cakes. The cakes were distributed to the elderly at the School’s Annual Carol Service, to the elderly folk of West Hill (via the Salvation Army) and to those who attended their Christmas Day lunch.

In addition a separate group of Year 7 and 8 students made wooden Christmas Tree Decorations, decorated with buttons and sequins, with the help of Mr Bolton. The festive creations were given out alongside the cakes by the Salvation Army. One recipient was in tears, saying ‘She didn’t think anybody cared about her’.

Well done to all involved.
