Amazing A Level Success for Brid School

Amazing A Level Success for Brid. School Students in 2013

In June this year Ofsted judged Bridlington School, including our sixth form, to be one of the best in the East Riding, stating that the quality of education is good and highly commending the Shores sixth form partnership between Bridlington School and Headlands School. This year’s A Level results prove that the quality of education we offer in our sixth form it is at least good, if not outstanding:

40% of students achieved A* and A grades

56% achieved A*- to B grades

82% achieved A* to C grades

98% passed all courses.

We totally smashed all our targets!

I am absolutely thrilled for our students, their parents and our staff, all of whom have worked so hard to achieve this amazing success. It is really exciting that so many of our students will now be able to take up places at leading Universities and can look forward to further academic success and very bright futures. Well done everyone! You really deserve this success. I am so proud of you.

Because the word is now out that Bridlington School offers a great standard of education, the numbers of students taking up places in our sixth form is growing rapidly. I hope our latest brilliant set of results will inspire even more students to decide to join us in September 2013.

Through the Shores Consortium we offer a comprehensive range of A Levels and Level 3 Btecs. As a sports college we also offer students the opportunity to focus purely on sports qualifications. This year 100% of students taking the Extended BTec Diploma in Sport (worth 3 A Levels) achieved either a Distinction* (grade A*) or a Distinction (grade A). Follow the link to The Shores website www.theshores.org.uk to find out more about our sixth form provision.

As from September we are providing a free iPad for every sixth former to support their learning and help them achieve even better results.

Students who have not yet applied and now wish to do so should phone Kathy Robson - Head of Sixth Form - on 07850 900440 or email robsonk@bridlingtonschool.org.uk. Come and join us on our journey to become an outstanding centre of learning!
