Bridlington CCF Recruits Pass-Out in style!
January 15th 2015 was a special day for the CCF recruits as they passed-out of recruit training and into their respective RAF and Army sections. The parade, which took place in the historic old Gym under the gaze of dozens of former students whose names are recorded on the many commemorative boards marked the end of 12 weeks training for the recruits.
After an impressive performance by the guard of honour made up by SGT Connor Blackburn, L/CPL Davey McCall, L/CPL Tom Burgess, Cadet Brandon Sewell and Cadet Connor Henderson the recruits were sworn in and received their certificates and cap badges.
This year’s honoured guest was The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Stanley Hardy. He addressed both the cadets and parents and, as a representative of Her Majesty the Queen, passed on her best wishes to all concerned. The cadets and staff were absolutely delighted to have such a distinguished guest and everyone connected with the contingent would like to thanks Mr Hardy for taking the time to visit and hand out the awards and prizes.
After further awards and promotions the parade was dismissed by Cadet CSGT Jamie McKellar and the all-important photo opportunities were taken.
Well done to all those involved in the organising of the parade and particularly to the recruits and the NCOs who trained them for showing character, resilience, effort and a great attitude.
