Bridlington School Open Evening
On a fantastic October autumn evening, Bridlington School opened its doors to prospective parents and pupils to show them the best that we have to offer. Delivering her speeches to a packed out Main Hall, Mrs Parker-Randall kicked off the evening with testimonials from current year 7 students, a video of the school events and a brief over view of our recent outstanding results. There was then a welcome from Mr Grice, Assistant Head of Lower School before parents were guided round the school by eager volunteers to departments buzzing with enthusiasm and exertion from yet more helpers and staff.
From the mouth-watering smell of the roast dinners in the canteen, to the gory dissection of pigs hearts in the science department, Bridlington School staff and students put on a show case of the opportunities that are available for pupils who choose the school. From Mr Kundi’s Bhangra dress and amazing samosas to Mr Lount’s handmade Halloween key rings to the CCF weapons demonstration to PE climbing wall displays the atmosphere was electric as families toured the school.
Speaking after the event, Mrs Parker-Randall said ‘On night’s like this I am reminded how proud I am of the staff and students at the school. Everyone pitched in to make tonight a real live event showing exactly what the Bridlington family is all about. We have very strong policies on behaviour and attendance but our curriculum is designed to make students want to learn; lessons are packed full of practical, energetic and engaging tasks which are supported by our enriching extra-curricular programme with over 50 different clubs.’
If you missed out and are curious to know how maths use tyres to learn, how textiles can turn old curtains in cutting edge dresses; how English rap with Shakespeare or why science teachers set alight to their hands, then please contact the school reception on 01262 672593 to arrange a visit to our marvellous family that is Bridlington School
