Bridlington School Students to take part in Bridlington’s Literary Festival at Sewerby
Eight Bridlington School students were selected to take part in Bridlington’s Literary Festival through ‘Poetry Scope’. Students spent Thursday with the dynamic human beatbox, turned poet, ‘Testament’ (Andy Brooks) to practice and hone their poetry skills through a range of engaging and exciting activities.
Based on the theme of Freedom, students wrote some compelling poems which they then performed in front of an audience at Sewerby Hall alongside other schools involved in the project. Teacher at Bridlington School, Mrs Ellis said:
‘I was impressed with the quality of the students’ work, they had so many inspiring ideas and were able to incorporate many poetic devices to really make their writing stand out. I am so proud of their efforts, we truly have some aspiring poets in amongst us. The collaboration was a huge success and it was fantastic to see our students have the opportunity to work with such successful writers on the day. I look forward to next year’s event.’
