Fieldwork for Psychology students
A Level psychology students visited New Pasture Lane Primary where they conducted a very simple but effective psychology experiment. Students in Y1 and Y5 were presented with a marshmallow and a moral conundrum. They were told that if they and their friends could resist eating the marshmallow, then their entire class would be rewarded with marshmallows.
Amazingly, and testament to New Pasture Lane school, all students managed to resist temptation! The experiment was the students own adapted design of the famous Harvard marshmallow study of the 1980s which is one of the core studies they have to learn for the A Level.
Needless to say, all students, primary and A Level, were amazingly behaved. A huge thank you to New Pasture and head teacher Mrs Tadman.
