Fire and Rescue Visit

A Cautionary Visit from Fire and Rescue

Students in year 7 & 8 were visited by 3 members of the Fire and Rescue service yesterday, although one member generated more attention than the others.

Mike, Walter and Eta visited to give a talk and demonstration about how the brigade use trained dogs to help them catch out arsonists and Eta did not disappoint. She picked out students from a demonstration on whom chemicals had been hidden, showing the power of her nose when it comes to finding clues that are hidden from humans.

Students also discussed the dangers of fireworks in light of Bonfire Night being around the corner and were told anecdotes and shown videos on the dangers of not taking fire seriously.
