Football Match Reports

Team one defended courageously throughout the match as Headlands had much of the ball and numerous attempts on the Bridlington goal. William Thompson-Dale making his debut in goal made some outstanding saves, while Eoghan McCarthy-Moreton and Tommy McDonald stood firm in the defence making countless tackles to stop Headlands in their tracks. Brodie Sedman was influential in the win with a man of the match performance, scoring two goals! Captain Jay Stockdale scored the goal of the match with a strike from 20 yards which according to Jay, 'went in the top bins'. The game finished up 3-2 for Bridlington

Team two meanwhile, ran out 4 - 2 winners, with a dominant display over their opponents. Controlling much of the possession throughout the game Callum Garbutt and Evan Taylor showed great skill and flare on the ball in attack. Mckenzie Lee's energy in the middle of the park meant Headlands players had little time on the ball and the whole team showed a fantastic team spirit throughout the game. Oliver Cook made some exceptional passes on his debut for the school and  each of the 4 goals were a team effort, with Bridlington passing the ball quickly and accurately in the build up play. Both teams represented the school excellently throughout and should be extremely proud of the achievements, well done boys!
