Bridlington Schools year 7’s amazing cup run came to a head against South Hunsley in an exciting final on Wednesday evening. South Hunsley ran out eventual winners, beating Bridlington 4-1 in what was an enthralling game.

The game was extremely close and with only ten minutes to play, the score was still level at 1-1 after an Ethan Collins goal had meant Bridlington were back on level terms on the hour mark. Emilio Colangelo-Cole was outstanding in the Bridlington net, but couldn’t keep out three late goals for Hunsley as they eventually ran out winners. Brodie Sedman also has an outstanding game in the middle of the park for Bridlington with some amazing tackles, outstanding work rate and impressive skill on the ball. The whole team have had an amazing first season and they should be extremely proud of their efforts!

The Year 8 team won 4-2 in their plate final after extra time. There were some really top performances in there notably Freddie Gunning with all four goals, Dawson Snaith with a top defensive performance and Noah Auty with some great saves at crucial times.

Well done to both teams, you did the school proud and a special thanks to Lewis Wilkinson from Year 11 who has been helping run the Year 8 team. Keep up the hard work.
