French Gamers

On Friday 18th January a group of 15 Year 10 pupils braved the snow to visit Hull University for a day spent learning how to play French computer games. Pupils had the chance to tour parts of the university before completing two French language workshops which focussed on designing and creating their own computer game characters, as well as having the opportunity to practise their new language skills by playing on a variety of computer games… all in French. They day offered pupils the chance to view language learning in a different light; Alanis Miller said, “it was great to learn French by playing computer games!” and Annie Booker added, “it was good to see how languages are taught at the university”.
