GCSE Results Summer 2013
This summer’s GCSE results are Bridlington School’s best ever, yet again! 99% of students achieved 5 GCSE passes, 1% higher than last year. An amazing 93% of students achieved 5 passes at grades A* to C. This is 5% higher than last year and significantly above the national average. We are also delighted that 55% of students achieved 5A* to C grades including Cs or higher in both English and Maths. The percentage of students achieving the top grades of A and A* has also increased again with 22% of students achieving 5 or more A* and A grades and 58% achieving 1 A* and A grade.
It is fantastic to see that the hard work of students and staff has paid off. Everyone has pulled out all the stops this year and I am so grateful to them for their dedication and commitment. I would particularly like to thank parents/carers for their considerable support. These students, along with many others, can now look forward to continuing their education in our highly successful sixth form,The Shores. Our A level results were some of the best in both East and North Yorkshire this year and our average point score was the highest of all the East Riding secondary schools. Students who wish to join The Shores but who have not yet done so should contact Mrs Robson – Head of Sixth form – by phoning 07850 900440 or email ing email@example.com. As well as receiving a great education, all students will receive a free iPad to support their studies.
Ofsted were right when they judged Bridlington School to be a good school last May. Both our GCSE and A level results this year prove that we are at least good and rightly deserve our growing reputation as one of the best schools in the East Riding. Well done everyone!
