IFS Challenge

This year Bridlington School sixth form have taken part in the IFS Student Investor Challenge. The students are given £100,000 of virtual money and are tasked with investing the money into stocks of well know businesses. Well over 5000
UK and international teams must then battle to make as much money as possible in a certain time frame. The students have to keep an eye on factors effecting the business world and make decisions of when to sell their shares or invest in more.

This year one of our teams made it to the top 500 and are now in the semi-final, where they must predict the changes in the price of shares over the week. The sooner they make their prediction the more points they get for it being close
to the closing value. The pressure is on for George McCormick, Jack Brown, Jamie Thompson and Nathan Parkin to get into the finals and to win themselves and the school fabulous prizes
