NUT Strike Action

The NUT Teaching Union has scheduled a day of industrial action on Wednesday 26th March. A significant number of staff at Bridlington School are members of this Trade Union. I am not permitted to ask them whether they intend to support the industrial action. I have, therefore, to assume that they will all be doing so. As a result I have taken the decision to partially close Bridlington School. Please see below for details:

The school will be shut to Years 7, 8 and 9.

Students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 should attend as normal.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience that this industrial action may cause you. I can assure you that any teacher who takes the decision to strike will not do so lightly. The industrial action is to protest about teachers’ pay and conditions. This includes the damaging changes the current Government is making to the school curriculum.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Pashley
Headteacher
