Sports Day Bridlington School 2016
It was the final day of the school term and a lovely summer morning in Bridlington. SMSC week had been extremely successful once again and had culminated to this point. The Rio Olympics were on the horizon, the summer holidays looming large and a sense of competition was in the air. This could only mean one thing... Sports Day at Brid School!
As the students emerged from their form rooms and ventured out onto the field it was clear that this would be a morning to remember. The stage was set and the cast were ready to take their parts!
Chariots of Fire was reverberating from the DJ booth, the PE staff were waiting at their perfectly prepared events and a plethora of fun activities were ready to be enjoyed in between student’s athletic events.
The students responded to such a fantastic day in kind; setting school records in track and field, taking on staff in various sporting challenges and soaking up the atmosphere.
In a sea of sport, sounds and selfies, a number of students produced performances for the school history books and set a new benchmark for others to aspire to. Twenty-two school records were broken on the day, some of which had been held by previous students for 10 years! These were;
