Students Remember Great War Hero

6th Form students have been invited by BBC Radio Humberside to read a collection of six letters written by a local Bridlington soldier during World War One which were recently discovered at Bridlington School.  The letters outline the living conditions and daily struggles endured by T.B.D Hough, himself a former student of Bridlington School. This stunning collection charts the two years Mr Hough’s spent in the British army and offers us a fascinating insight into what life was like for the average ‘Tommy’ during the Great War. The collection also includes the telegrams sent by the War Office to inform the family of Tom’s death in 1916. The recordings will be serialised and broadcasted on Radio Humberside in the week running up to Remembrance Sunday.
