Students Visit a Local Residential Home

Sixth Form Health and Social Care students visited Foresters Lodge, a local residential home to research Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures in a health and social care setting.

They had the opportunity to meet some of the residents and speak to the manager, who outlined their protocols and training and how these impacted on the health and safety of visitors, workers and residents. The students also had a tour of the facilities and learned about career opportunities in a care setting.

The students found the trip valuable:
'it was a great opportunity to see how policies and procedures are followed first hand and to see what technologies are available to keep residents and staff safe'
