Year 8 Students Visit and Present At York University

Bridlington School triumphed at York University with their presentation entitled "Why go to University?"

The five students involved had to research information, create resources, produce a presentation and deliver to an audience of University undergraduates, lecturers and teachers.

The Bridlington team "The Mockingjays" comprised Bea Middleton, Nicole Andrew, Connor McPherson, Evan Taylor and Clayton O'Hara.

Richard Adams, organiser, complemented the Mockingjays for their outstanding teamwork and well put together presentation.

Bea said how proud she was of the team and how well they worked together. She had been very nervous and had gained confidence during the event.
Nicole said that she was now very keen to go to University and had a much greater know ledge of what it would be like.

The event is a collaboration, involving the Universities of York St John, York and Hull, and targets schools along the Yorkshire Coast. The students have now attended all 3 universities and been given a good flavour of University life.
