Year 9/10 Netball Report v Hornsea School

A massive ‘Well done’ to our KS4 team, who played amazingly against a very strong Hornsea team. (The score does not really tell the true story!).

In the first quarter, our team worked very well as a team, with quick passing and great communication. With some excellent shooting from Connie Howarth and Emma Smales, they held Hornsea to a 5-5 draw.

In the 2nd quarter, Hornsea came out fighting to gain a lead and although our team put up a very brave fight, Hornsea won that quarter 8-5.

In the 3rd quarter, our team worked very hard and their passing and movement on court was exceptional. However, we were unlucky to have a few missed goal shots, resulting in 3-1 to Hornsea.

In the final quarter, both teams were tiring and although our team worled hard to close Hornsea down, they won this quarter 6-2.

Overall, a very strong performance by our girls, against a very experienced team who are all playing Club netball at a high level. This was the first match this season for most of our players, and if they continue to play like this, attend training and work hard, they will be a force to be reckoned with! Beth Sturdy was named ‘Player of the Match’ by the Hornsea team, which was well deserved.

Team: N. Blackett, C. Howarth, I. Waldie, C. Reece, B. Sturdy, N. Walkington, E. Smales

Well done to all the girls who represented the school so well and did themselves very proud.
