Yr8 Boys Rugby team do the Double
Bridlington’s year 8 boys travelled the short distance to Hornsea School to take on the hosts and old foes Headlands!
In two hard fought encounters Brid were in dominant mood against Hornsea winning by four tries to one and were particularly ruthless against Headlands winning by four tries to nil.
Skipper Harvey Morrison marshalled his troops excellently guiding the less experienced lads through their first taste of competitive rugby.
Brid’s Forwards competed well at the breakdown securing excellent, quick ball for their backs to exploit. And exploit it they did through strong running from Max Towse, Andrew Rookes and the impressive, juggernaut like Josh Walkington!
Josh literally steamrolled both opposition defences leaving them in awe of his pace and power.
Brid’s scrummaging and rucking abilities were a sight to behold defying their age and relative inexperience. Much of this is owed to Brid’s combative front row of Gowan Groves, Josh White and Ethan Hornby. A potent combination!
A special mention must go to Brid’s pocket rocket scrum half Harvey Rowe who, despite his relative size thundered into several challenges gaining valuable ground for his team. He was a real livewire at the breakdown impressing the opposition coaches with his accurate distribution and darting runs.
Harvey Morrison’s kicking game was also a thorn in the side of the opposition all night.
Brid recycled their own ball effectively, turned over opposition ball when they had no right to and were simply impenetrable in defence and powerful in contact.
Impressive performance lads, well done
