Jonathan Butler

Jonathan Butler has recently joined Bridlington School following 8 years in the sixth form sector as a college leader responsible for teaching and learning and digital strategy. Jonathan began his education career in a school in Doncaster in 2006 as a biology teacher and quickly progressed on to leading KS3 science. In 2011 Jonathan moved to Hull to take a role as deputy head of science before moving to The sixth form sector as head of science, curriculum director and most recently Assistant Principal of Wilberforce college.

Jonathan has experience working for the DfE to assist schools up and down the country to provide the best education possible throughout the pandemic. More recently his role led Jonathan to help local school leaders to develop their digital strategy with the aim to combat big issues such as digital poverty, accessibility and inclusion.

Jonathan is passionate about equity and firmly believes in the power of education to improve life chances for young people.

Although Jonathan is new to our Bridlington School family he has lived locally for the last 12 years raising his young family. Jonathan is really excited to be joining us and is committed to securing a positive future for our community.
