School Closure – Tuesday 6th January 2026

[05 Jan 2026]

Bridlington School will remain closed tomorrow Tuesday 6th January 2026. Due to the weather conditions throughout the day, the current heavy snow down the coast and more forecast overnight we have taken the difficult decision to remain closed tomorrow Tuesday 6th January. I wanted to take this decision this evening to give parents and carers as much notice as possible.

With compacted snow turning to ice due to freezing temperatures and further snow overnight and more snow forecast tomorrow, travel to school will be unsafe. Scarborough primary school closures are also causing staff shortages. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Despite our best efforts to make the site safe today we will not have enough staff able to travel to allow us to open the site safely tomorrow.

Students will be directed to home learning on Sam Learning, Sparks and Teams. Further details about school work for the day will be sent in a separate message via Arbor on Tuesday morning to students and parents / carers directly.

Should you require any help please message do email the school on [email protected] or message on the Arbor app.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support.
